Job Function: This intern will work with our operations team to expand their knowledge around Project Management within an Energy Construction Company.
Job Description:
This intern will learn the following during this internship opportunity:
- How to confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, or design professionals to discuss and resolve matters, such as work procedures, complaints, or construction problems.
- How to plan, schedule, or coordinate construction project activities to meet deadlines.
- How to prepare and submit budget estimates, lump sum bids, progress reports, or cost tracking reports.
- How to inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with safety codes, environmental regulations, or other regulations.
- How to prepare and plan for job showings.
- How to study job specifications, using computer models, to evaluate appropriate construction methods and cost-effectiveness of plans.
- How to prepare contracts or negotiate revisions to contractual agreements with clients, suppliers, or subcontractors.
- How to develop, implement, and manage quality control and environmental protection programs.
- How to implement new or modified plans in response to delays, bad weather, or construction site emergencies.
- How to effectively manage the change order process with customers.
- How to interpret and explain plans and contract terms to representatives of the owner or developer, including administrative staff, workers, or clients.
- How to perform or contract others to perform prebuilding assessments, such as conceptual cost estimating, rough order of magnitude estimating, feasibility, energy efficiency, environmental, and sustainability assessments.
- How to apply for and obtain all necessary permits or licenses.
- How to determine labor requirements for dispatching workers to construction sites.
- How to requisition and/or manage supplies or materials to complete construction projects.
- How to solicit subcontractor bids and coordinate subcontractors.

Experience Required: The intern must be enrolled in an accredited school to obtain their Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Project Management.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- Associate degree (two-year college or technical school) (Required)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Project/Construction Management or Engineering (In process)

- CAD Experience (preferred/not required)
